How to Make a Referral

Santa Fe DBT provides standard and adherent DBT. A referral to DBT is a referral for the entire treatment, not for skills training only. DBT requires that clients have only one individual therapist, which means that the referring therapist must terminate with the client prior to that client beginning DBT.  Sometimes, if everyone is in agreement, clients will return to the referring therapist after they complete the initial year of DBT.
Therapists wishing to make a referral will need to provide the following information when they call:
*Client’s name, age and contact information.
      *Client’s payment source.
*Client’s key problem behaviors including current substance use, suicidal behavior and recent hospitalizations.
*Client’s willingness to commit to treatment.
Thank you for your referrals.  We will do our best to provide them with excellent DBT treatment.
